Originally a 1920s building which has belonged to the same family since its construction, the Estalagem Serragolf has architectural features and historical value that make the property and its surroundings a very romantic and relaxing place. In the 1940s it functioned as a teahouse (Casa de Chá do Santo da Serra) and later on as the golf club house. The Estalagem is situated in the picturesque village of Santo da Serra, surrounded by an important and dense woodland, part of the marvellous laurissilva forest, classified as world heriage in 1999. Its proximity to the levadas (water courses) and veredas (footpaths) of Madeira makes lovely and unforgettable walking and hiking excursions. The Estalagem Serra Golf is the ideal place for a golf holiday with the Santo da Serra golf course only a few minutes walk. The Estalagem has been open since March 2001 and has already accommodated many PGA members and golfers of international prestige.

In the centre of the village, there is a famous country house Quinta da Junta a pleasant place for walking with some animals and full of beautiful plants and flowers.
