Algarve Golf (Vale do Lobo)
We had a good time in Portugal, and thanks for all your help. It's a welcoming country, quite relaxing, and the people and food were great.

La Manga Golf Break
In short, we had a fantastic holiday. Everything went to plan... no delays & golf reservations were fine. Accomodation was excellent...no complaints. We'll probably be doing the same again next year - but at a different location - so will no doubt give you a call again. Thanks for everything

Golf in the Costa del Sol
We found the Lauro to be really enjoyable for a number of reasons. 1/ Being up in the hills we found it much more relaxed and informal (and more friendly) than some other courses we have played down on the coast 2/ The views and scenery were lovely 3/ We found the course itself just about right for our standard ; it was a good varied course but the fairways were quite wide and there were no very punishing holes. 4/ The prices at the 19th hole were very reasonable and the food in the clubhouse was probably the best we had the whole holiday. We would definitely play the course if we were to visit the area again and should we do do ; i will be in touch again.

Winter Golf Holiday in the Algarve
Just a short note to thank you for arranging our golf in The Algarve last week. Although the weather wasn't wonderful we enjoyed ourselves very much. Vila Sol was our favourite, even though the rain was incessant from start to finish and we only saw three other players on the course!

Holiday to Costa del Sol (Marbella)
just a quick word to say ”Thanks” for setting up our holiday recently in Marbella at the Don Miguel Hotel. All the arrangements worked well and we had a great time. Many thanks for your help.

Tenerife Golf Holiday (Playa Las Americas)
The [Mediterranean Palace] hotel was first class.Of the golf courses we played, Adeje, [Golf del] Sur and Playa [Las Americas] were first class. Amarilla was pretty micky mouse. All the courses though were extremely busy and the rounds were taking over four hours. That was ok for us because we weren't playing serious golf and were prepared to chill out, but if you had a party of people who wanted to play serious, competitive golf they would go bananas. One final point I would make is that it is essential to have tee times booked beforehand.

Golf Holiday in Vilamoura, Algarve
I wanted to email you (but as usual have not got around to it yet) to let you know how pleased we were with our Golf trip earlier this month. All of the details (hotel, car hire and golf) were very good, no problems etc. and we enjoyed ourselves enough that we've decided to do it again next year.

Foursome’s All-Inclusive Golf Holiday to Marbella, Spain
The golf package you arranged for us has been the best that any of us has experienced over many years of golf trips abroad.Ê The arrangements all went without a hitch we were upgraded by Niza cars, the food was excellent, the staff looked after very well, the pool and leisure club were first class and finally we used the bar to the fullest of ourÊ(ability). We all have told our fellow golfers of the good time we had and we would like to go again with a few extra maybe.

Costa del Sol Golf Holiday (Marbella-Estepona)
The holiday was excellent and the golf was superb. The condition of all the courses was first class especially the Los Arqueros course. The Estopona GC of all the courses was the least pleasant course we played because it was situated right next to a massive quarry and there were a lot of large lorries driving through the course. That apart everthing was fine. A good time was had by all.

Foursome’s Algarve Holiday (Vale do Lobo-Vilamoura)
We are all back home after our Golfing holiday in Algarve, feeling very depressed and sorry for ourselves facing the drudgery of everyday life again. All the vouchers and arrangements worked out fine - thanks again for your assistance. As you know, it was our first time Golfing in Portugal and we have learned quite a bit for our return in 2002. For your info here are some comments : Meridian Dona Filipa - excellent hotel but very very expensive. We got caught badly for evening dinner - you live & learn. San Lorenzo GC - course and greens in very good condition - the course had not recovered fully from the heavy rain of the previous week and there was absolutely no run on the ball - very satisfied with the course and would play it again. 7 out of 10 Penina GC - this was definitely the worst of all the courses - it was like a marsh with muck over our shoes in places - we spoke to some members of the senior tour that were there for a practice round and they were ”hopping mad” at the condition of the course - never, never again would any of us play there again. 3 out of 10 Villa Sol - this was a lovely course with good greens - it showed no signs of the rain and we really enjoyed the day. We played the course again on Saturday and were still delighted with the course.8 out of 10 Islantilla - We stayed in the Confortel which we found to be very comfortable and enjoyed our stay - the Golf Hotel attached to Islantilla seemed to be a much more modern hotel and the rates we were given seem to be slighty cheaper than the Confortel. Islantilla GC suffers from too much development quite near the course - the back nine we played was much softer that the front nine. The greens were the best of all the courses we played - they didn't look spectacular but were fast and true - really good. We were delighted with the experience of travelling to Spain but would not return to Islantilla -you told us not to expect too much there. 6 out of 10. Vale do Lobo Royal - we all thought that we had died and gone to heaven here - this was by far the best all round course that we played - I also managed to par the 16th Cliff Hole. This would be a MUST PLAY for future trips to the Algarve. 10 out of 10. Vilamoura Old - the setting of the course and quality of tees and fairways was excellent. However the greens were just about average with a lot of bumps and marks - we felt that they should have been a lot better- we would not play this course again unless the greens were better. 7 out of 10. We ate out a lot and tried the Brasserie and Caprice in Almancil. We were very happy with both. On the day we were in Penina we ate in The Steak House, under the Jupiter Hotel in Praia de Rocha (I found this spot 2 years ago). This was by far the best meal we had. The apartment was fine, we had a problem on arrival as we were given an apartment with one twin room and one DOUBLE room. The problem was solved by getting a second twin bed apartment. Is it possible to get an apartment with CNN or SKY satellite channels. The entrance hall/door and stairwells were a little bit run-down. I hope that these comments are of some use to you. We really enjoyed out trip and apart from Sun & Mon being overcast, the rest of the week was Sun and blue skies.

Algarve Golf Holiday (Alvor)
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the wonderful holiday you booked for my friend and I. The whole time was extremely well organised, and we couldn't have wished for a better time.

A Week’s Golf in the Algarve (Vale do Lobo)
I had a splendid time in Portugal, the [Le Meridient Dona Filipa] hotel was really nice, above all it was a very friendly place. The [San Lorenzo] golf course was smashing, but maybe a little over-hyped, certainly extremely attractive and pretty demanding and kept in good condition as well. A couple of rounds were a little disappointing due to the time it took to get round, one was five and three quarter hours and another well over five hours! The courtesy bus to the course runs to a good timetable, but the last trip back was at 19.30 so I would recommend anyone who uses this not to book too late a tee time. The Golf desk at the hotel was very obliging and it was easy enough to change tee times. I would recommend people to hire a car or be prepared to take taxis, as there is very little to do around the hotel. The price of balls and other kit at San Lorenzo is very steep, so it pays to make sure you have enough to last. I didn't lose that many balls though. The clubhouse is poor as far as changing facilities, but the food is excellent, and they do some nice rolls that you can take out with you. The course has one feature that I would like to see on more courses, decent toilets half way round each half of the course!! All in all a smashing place to go, and you don't need to worry about the language, everyone speaks english, which was a bit frustrating as I had tried to learn some portugese! I will go back one day without doubt, as I have unfinished business on a couple of holes. Once again thanks for all your help in getting this set up at short notice, it was really appreciated.

Algarve Golf (Vilamoura)
The holiday was great. Laguna was in excellent condition and should be recommended, same with Vila Sol. Pinhal not in the same condition and needs a bit a work to bring it up to the same standard, greens and fairways quite heavily marked. We were paired in 4 balls at Laguna and Pinhal which seemed to be the norm, but all in all very pleased. Thank you

Algarve Golf Holiday (Vilamoura)
We were very impressed with Vila Sol and Vilamoura (Vilamoura was in very good condition and Vila Sol is a tough course). Pinhal was not in as good a condition as the other two although the layout of the holes was decent enough. Thanks for organising the green fees.

Algarve Golf Holiday (Portimao)
We had a fantastic holiday and we all enjoyed it so much we would like to go again next year. We now have a better idea of the golf course so would like to choose them for next time. The only down point re the [Le Meridien Penina] hotel was that there was no baby listening service.

Golfing Society’s Annual Holiday (Algarve, Portugal)
..The [Delfim] hotel was really nice and the people were very friendly and helpful. The view from most of the rooms was great. We did have a slight problem with the driving. It took a lot longer than we had planned. We were late for one tee time but they worked us in without a problem. The drivers in Portugal are crazy. They have no fear of anything or anyone. The courses were great, we didn't play very good but enjoyed it a lot. The trip to Gibraltar was a long and tiring day, but well worth the experience. After we returned we found that they had Bus tours from near the Hotel that could have saved us a lot of driving. By the way the road is not completed across Spain and the best way is down the coast. We really do appreciate all that you did for us on this trip, it worked out really nice. Thanks.. We have already started planning the trip for next year. It looks like we have about 16 that want to take about 10 days and go to Scotland & Ireland. Hopefully this time we will get a driver and let him fight the roads. If you have any ideas about such a trip I would appreciate hearing from you. I will of course contact you when we start getting the details together. Thanks a lot for your help, and I look forward to working with you in the future.

Algarve Golf Holiday (Vale do Lobo)
Our holiday was great and the golf and car arrangements were A1. Thanks very much. The courses were very good. Vale de Lobo course was excellent although they are doing some sort of renovations and half the car park was closed, which meant having to park on the road at times, a minor inconvenience.

Golf Holiday in Costa del Sol, Spain
... We enjoyed our holiday very much especially the golf, the Course Master vouchers were readily accepted and I can recommend all three golf courses [Monte Mayor, Alcaidesa and Estepona]. Monte Mayor is a real challenge and I would advise anybody who hasn't played it before to take plenty of balls with them, we lost eighteen. We had an extra buggy at Monte Mayor which cost 4000 pesetas and 5000 pesetas at Alcaidesa...

Golf combined with family holiday, Algarve, Portugal
Everything went very well especially the [Le Meridien Penina] hotel which was great for kids. Only problem was my golf did not get any better, but I won’t hold you responsible for that. We hope to do something similar next year so all going well will be in touch.

Single’s Golf Holiday to Costa del Sol (Puerto de la Duquesa-Sotogrande)
On the whole I enjoyed the holiday and the courses... I have to say that on the whole I prefer the Algarve both for courses and hospitality. The courses around Quinta do Lago are hard to beat. Anyhow it made a change to play in Spain. You should look at Australian courses and package some of those particularly as the $ here is weak. They represent excellent value and rarely exceed A$100 per round including buggy. Food for thought. Thanks for your help. Everything went smoothly and I will keep you on my list when next I need a golfing holiday

Holiday for 3 to Alvor (Algarve Portugal)
Just to let you know we had a fantastic holiday. We thought the [Pestana Carlton] hotel was fantastic, and in a wonderful location with effectively its own beach. Another plus was the superb beach restaurant which probably served the best fish we had during the week, and at excellent prices. We did not eat dinner in the hotel because we like to go out. The village of Alvor was not really in walking distance (particularly if you've just played 18 holes), so most people like us were taking taxis. Penina GC was fantastic, Pinta was very good as was Alto, although nowhere near as well kept as the other two. Parque de Floresta was OK but we wouldn't rush back. Having said that, if you want a very quiet remote holiday, then probably a very good resort - but beware of where you are housing guests as there is an awful lot of building work going on and a lot of cranes. All in all - we were very happy and thank you for all your help. Cheap flights from Bristol on Go were an added bonus and it's now a great airport to fly from.

Sports Holiday to Estepona, Spain (Costa del Sol)

...I have to say it was the best sports holiday I have been on. The golf teacher Simon Elliot [of Atalaya Golf Club] was superb and the [Atalaya Park] hotel staff were exceptional. I have to say that the Don Miguel was better in terms of standards [than Atalaya Park] but not close to the beach so a bit of a problem for a beachey holiday resort. I was impressed and have recommended it on.

Algarve Golf Holiday
Thanks for your enquiry re my recent holiday in Portugal. Everything was fine including the golf. I was most impressed with the way you handled the booking , it is so much easier to turn up with pre arranged tee times and not have to book whilst in resort. I would describe the golf on the respective courses as follows. Salgados - This course is a challenging links course but add 15 water features and combined with the Algarve sea breezes this course becomes very difficult to score on epecially the front nine -- especially for the mid handicapper like myself off 16.The club house is very friendly and the course photographer takes a good picture of your Tiger Woods swing on the first . The pictures are developed and presented well for £6.50 on your return to the clubhouse. The green fee was a day ticket and again I tried to conquer the front nine after a liquid lunch but failed miseably. All in all a good days golf . The fairways were well manicured and the greens in superb order. Vila Sol - After you have driven past the third or fourth £1,000,000 Villa on your approach to the clubhouse it was nice to be greeted by friendly staff who treeted my playing partner and I well as they explained that the course had 27 holes and we would be teeing off on the 19th which I thought was the bar. Anyway off we went in our buggy and were not disappointed. The course was in excellent condition and despite some construction work on villas adjacent to some holes this did not detract from a great round of golf . A buggy is a must in the Algarve in June with temperatures nearly 90 degrees. Vila Sol lived up to its Championship pedigree and I would recomend it to anybody to play. Just to finish off I would like to say that June is a good time to play golf on the Algarve although hotter the courses are very quiet and with a buggy well stocked with drinks the heat is bearable. Thanks for your help and I would be keen to hear of any future golf offers you may have especially to the Algarve. Maybe I’ll return in June 2002.

Father and Sons Golf Holiday in Benalmadena (Costa del Sol, Spain)
GREAT HOLIDAY. THE [TORREQUEBRADA] HOTEL WAS EXCELLENT, NOT THE FRIENDLIEST BUT EVERYTHING FIRST CLASS. MARBELLA CLUB GOLF WAS THE MOST WELCOMING. THE CADDY MASTER AND CLUB HOUSE VERY NICE TO US. COURSE EXCELLENT. TORREQUEBRADA WAS OK. COURSE EXCELLENT. PROBABLY THE BEST COURSE OUT OF THE FIVE. AGAIN FACILITIES OK. MARBELLA GOLF NOT THE MOST WELCOMING BUT COURSE EXCELLENT. THEY WERE NOT THAT FRIENDLY IN THE CLUB HOUSE. LAURO GOLF -- IT WAS A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO GET TO AND A LITTLE BIT EASY FOR US BUT CLUBHOUSE AND BAR VERY FRIENDLY. THE COURSE IS MORE FOR HIGHER HANDICAP OR LEARNER GOLFERS. WE PLAYED THROUGH ABOUT SIX SETS OF GOLFERS. LA DUQUESA WAS A SURPRISE TO ME -- NOT AN EASY COURSE AND VERY ENJOYABLE. WE DID GET HELD UP AS A LOT OF IDIOTS WERE WALKING RATHER THAN IN BUGGIES. PLAYED THROUGH FIVE SETS. THE FIRST THREE COURSES WERE GOOD BECAUSE YOU DID NOT HAVE TO STAY TO THE PATHS WITH THE BUGGIES UNLIKE LAURO AND LA DUQUESA. ON THE WHOLE EVERY THING WENT WELL EVERYBODY TOOK OUR VOUCHERS NO PROBLEM AT ALL AND WE WERE WELL LOOKED AFTER.

Golf School Holiday in Alhaurin de la Torre (Andalucia, Spain)
We had an excellent holiday. The [Alhaurin] hotel was very good, good and friendly service, nice big rooms, good house keeping and a fairly good restaurant. With regards to the golf clinic we were very lucky. We were the only three to have signed up for the clinic so we had lots of attention from the professional. The clinic itself was a good mixture of practice and playing and I must say that my golf has improved...

1 Week in Vilamoura (Algarve, Portugal)
