Royal Troon
Classic links course and home to the Open Championship in 1997 which Justin Leonard won. Famous for having the shortest hole in championship golf, known as the 'postage stamp', the 123 yard 8th hole which Gene Sarazen (at 71 years of age) aced at the 1973 Open. Known as the complete test of golf.
7097 yds, Par 73, SSS 74.
No Ladies allowed. (You must be kidding. This IS the 21st century.) Visitors Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays only.

Old Prestwick
The birthplace of the Open Championship which was held here first in 1860 and another 23 times up to 1925. Open winners include Willi Park Jnr (in 1860), Old Tom Morris and Young Tom Morris (who kept the belt prize after his hat-trick of wins in 1870. The following year a claret jug was awarded for the first time). An excellent and daunting course to play. It is advisable to hire a caddy to guide you as there are many blind shots on this undulating links course. If you want to feel part of golf history , this is the place to play. Always in pristine condition.
6544 yds, Par 71, SSS 73.
Visitors on weekdays only.
