Situated on the Island of Elba, Acquabona Elba Golf Course is hilly with a panoramic view between Portoferraio and Porto Azzurro, near the intersection to Lacona. Its is a nine-hole course with two starting tees, and measure 5,144 meters - Par 68. The most interesting hole is number 2 (Par 3, meters 197). It is downhill and always has a crosswind.Three sand bunkers are ready to stop any low-flopped shots. Hole 8 is a difficult dogleg right, uphill against the wind, with out-of-bounds to the right and three rows of eucalyptus which prevent recovery of mistaken shots. The green has a slight slope, relatively narrow, protected at the front by three large bunkers. A fourth bunker is situated to the right of the green. The whole course winds its way between oak pines and eucalyptus. The scent in the air, the silence, the birds of Elba’s Natural Park, the view of the gulf and also inland, makes Acquabona Elba Golf Course an unforgettable experience.
